Regional Trade & Compliance Manager - Asia Pacific (Hong Kong/Japan)
About The Role:
The Regional Trade & Compliance Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day import and export compliance activities across an assigned region, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations while supporting Arclin business objectives. This role serves as the primary regional trade compliance resource, translating regulatory requirements into practical business actions and driving compliance across customs, export controls, sanctions, and trade programs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily import and export compliance activities across the assigned region.
Ensure accurate trade documentation, customs declarations, export filings, classification, origin, valuation, and regulatory data.
Manage export licensing, denied party screening, sanctions compliance, embargo controls, and technology transfer requirements.
Monitor changing trade regulations across the region and assess impacts to products, customers, supply chains, costs, and operations.
Manage and audit customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party trade service providers.
Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and external providers.
Support government agency inquiries, audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and trade optimization opportunities.
Conduct training, risk assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining Arclin ownership of compliance decisions and controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Legal Studies, or related field.
7+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or related disciplines.
Strong knowledge of import compliance, export controls, customs valuation, classification, origin, sanctions, and licensing requirements.
Customs Broker License a plus but not required.
Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience in manufacturing, specialty chemicals, industrial products, or related industries preferred.
