Lam Research is seeking an experienced Regional Spares Planner responsible for developing and executing spare parts inventory strategies for a dedicated North America customer account. This highly collaborative role partners with the customer, account team, global planning, supply chain, and logistics organizations to optimize inventory availability and positioning, support customer uptime and service commitments, and balance operational readiness with inventory productivity and working capital objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a Regional Spares Planner for a dedicated North America customer account, ensuring alignment across the customer, account team, global planning, supply chain, and logistics teams on spare parts availability, inventory strategy, and replenishment priorities.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute inventory plans that support customer fab ramps, installed base growth, tool utilization, and uptime objectives while balancing inventory investment, inventory turns, and excess inventory risk.
  • Analyze customer consumption trends, demand forecasts, installed base changes, and business requirements to determine optimal spare parts stocking levels, deployment strategies, and inventory locations.
  • Optimize inventory placement for the regional depot and customer-consigned inventory to improve part availability, service responsiveness, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor key inventory performance metrics, including service levels, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, aging and slow-moving inventory, and excess and obsolete material; identify risks and implement corrective action to achieve performance target.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the account team, global planning, supply chain, and logistics to proactively resolve material shortages, demand fluctuations, allocation constraints, and critical customer escalations.
  • Develop and implement first-in-fab spare parts strategies for tool installations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory availability, forecast effectiveness, inventory productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, demand planning, service parts planning, or related supply chain functions, preferably within a semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-tech environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and other planning, inventory management, and analytics tools.

  • Experience developing and executing inventory strategies to support customer service requirements, operational objectives, and inventory productivity goals.
  • Experience collaborating with customers, account teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in complex, global, matrixed environments, with demonstrated ability to influence decisions and drive alignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of service supply chain operations, customer support requirements, inventory planning, and spare parts inventory optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects, and changing business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, inventory modeling, and business intelligence tools, including Power BI, SQL, SAP HANA, Azure Synapse, or other database and data warehouse technologies.
  • Experience developing business cases and inventory recommendations by evaluating customer requirements, operational objectives, service-level expectations, and financial impacts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable inventory, supply chain, and customer service decisions.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies to improve inventory performance, operational efficiency, and service outcomes.
