The Regional Planner executes the S&OE function for their assigned region, serving as the critical link between demand planning and site-level execution. This role translates the consolidated demand plan into WHERE to fulfill, HOW to staff, and WHEN to execute within their regional network. The Regional Operations Planner operates within the three-pillar S&OE model: weekly operational planning cycles, execution support for order resolution, and capacity program analysis to ensure sites can absorb demand proactively rather than reactively.
Key job responsibilities
- Execute weekly operational planning cycles for assigned region, producing site-level execution plans with volume allocation by process path and labor requirements
- Translate S&OP outputs into executable short-term supply plans, monitor execution against the plan, and drive rapid resolution of gaps (e.g., demand spikes, supply disruptions, capacity constraints)
- Translate demand plans, order reservations, and order priority logic into actionable regional execution plans that optimize network utilization
- Support network-level level-loading by identifying capacity constraints and volume distribution opportunities within regional sites
- Drive structured resolution of unfulfillable orders by partnering with site operations, Supply Chain Planning, and Procurement to clear blockers and convert to fulfillable demand
- Monitor and maintain regional capacity buffers, tracking current utilization against available capacity and escalating constraint signals
- Contribute to regional capacity outlook analysis across multiple horizons (0-90 days, 30-180 days) and provide data-driven input for investment recommendations
- Track and report regional performance metrics including forecast-to-plan accuracy, unfulfillable conversion rates, and capacity buffer maintenance
- Partner with the S&OE Manager and other regional planners to ensure consistent planning cadence, methodology, and output quality across all regions
A day in the life
We are looking for a Regional Operations Planner who can operate at the intersection of demand translation and execution planning within their assigned region. This role will be accountable for converting demand signals into executable regional operations that support the network's goal of 95% On-Time Ship performance while eliminating reactive overtime and expedited freight costs.
