Full Job Description
Overall purpose of role:

Accelerate sales growth within the specified region through direct sales new business development and effective existing account management. Commercially consistently strives to exceed annual targets adhering to margin and profit thresholds. Technically has a solid experience in powder handling and processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify industry, consumer and competitive trends; using credible market intelligence to make recommendations for action plans and programs in line with the Company's strategy and growth initiatives. Forming partnerships and networking to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Develop New Sales Opportunities: Gathering sales intelligence on new and existing customers, following up on qualified leads but also organic lead generation to generate new business. This will include web research, contacting directly via email, telephone and networking at events, seminars and exhibitions.
  • Account Management: Display a strategic approach to managing and nurturing business relationships with key accounts. Retain loyal clients and increase revenue by connecting with new customers. Oversee the full client relationship, ensuring satisfaction, understanding needs, and providing customers with service, support and improvement opportunities to increase aftersales activity.
  • Qualifying Opportunities: Determining if the customer is a good fit for the proposed product or system by following established qualification criteria for assessing opportunities.
  • Core Sales Activities:
    • Manage customer site visits, help co-ordinate demonstrations and trials at Matcon and/ or customer site. Work with customers and internal resources to review and define User Requirement Specifications.
    • Help define and coordinate Matcon's response to enquiries (type, format, timescale and content)
    • Follow up Proposals with customers in a timely manner.
    • Negotiate and close orders.
    • Ensure non-standard Ts & Cs are approved appropriately.
  • Accurate forecasting: Communicate accurate sales forecasts by month, quarter and year adhering to Matcon's established forecasting methodology.
  • Marketing: Sharing market & customer information with the marketing team for use in developing and delivering marketing activities. Contribute to the customer journey by responding to enquiries in the agreed timeframes, ongoing lead nurturing, social media amplification and webinars. Evaluating Leads, Opportunities, Wins & Losses to measure success and give constructive feedback to marketing for the ongoing improvement of Lead Generation.
  • Sales Support Information: Identify and secure case studies & testimonials from which marketing can create campaigns. Create and develop supporting information for customers by creating PowerPoint Presentations, Process Flow Sheets etc.
  • Data Management: Ensure the CRM (Dynamics) is routinely updated i.e. daily and weekly - especially in relation to customer visits, quoting, forecasting and similar information. Complete an accurate New Customer Set up Form for credit checks in a timely manner. Assist with the production of reports for Monthly Business Reviews and Commercial meetings.

  • Ability to travel, as required, on a regular basis.
  • Must be physically able to climb onto structures, stairs, ladders, scaffolds, customer facilities, and industrial plants, inspect equipment for failure and process analysis and enter equipment access points.
  • Proficient in utilization of Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • Results driven and motivated to achieve and exceed targets.


Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Engineering discipline. Equivalent experience commensurate with the knowledge gained through completion of one of the above degrees will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive and relevant experience in industry field sales, ideally capital goods equipment.
  • Knowledge of powder handling and powder processing theory is important
  • Experience with particle size reduction, blending and screening technologies advantageous
  • A valid driver's license is essential.


Training:
  • Product training to be confirmed.


Location and any travel requirements:

Remote based in Upper Mid-West USA, but extensive travel will be required within their region to customer sites, exhibitions, seminars and presentations. Regular attendance to MPT US Head quarters and the Canadian site is also required to establish working relationship and promote collaboration within the wider team.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $127,200.00 - $190,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
