Responsible for delivering Office and Factory Services projects to support Vestas business needs by understanding stakeholder requirements, managing design consultants, procuring contractors, and managing the appraisal, permitting, construction and closeout phases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the construction phase by managing the safety, quality, schedule, budget, scope, and production impact of the process. On time and on budget execution is critical.
• Ensure that all Office and Factory Services projects are in compliance with local jurisdiction (i.e. environmental compliance, hazardous materials, building department and land use)
Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, user groups, consultants, and contractors by consistently showing integrity, technical understanding, and effective communication, which supports internal customer loyalty.
Learn to understand local jurisdiction and local officials to support valuable outcomes for real estate planning
• Responsible to thoroughly understand the factory processes and how construction project can positively or negatively impact each phase of that process
Turn stakeholder requirements into construction documents by applying wide-ranging experience and technical skill to identify the most effective solution.
• Align with global resources to ensure Vestas best practices are utilized
• Introduce creativity and innovation into the delivery process to improve budget and schedule performance.
• Provide rough order of magnitude estimates of budget and schedule.
• Strategic selection of vendors in partnership with procurement when possible. Execute RFQs ensuring multiple bids are evaluated and best vendor selected
• Support and promote EHS efforts and serve as ambassador for an injury and incident free safety culture at the project site.
• Expected to collaborate on projects and delivery process from both local and international perspective
QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other software programs
• Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, Primavera, MS project, and other project and scheduling software
• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English and Spanish
• Ability to work flexible hours with variety of cultures (coordinating with various time zones)
• Financial understanding and budget responsibility
• Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to effectively participate in a cross functional team that may include internal, external, domestic and international stakeholders
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed
• Ability to travel internationally as needed
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a remote environment
• Ability to see, hear, touch and smell
COMPETENCIES
• Bachelors' Degree (Engineering, Business, Construction management, Architecture)
• 5-8 years of practical, on-site project management experience, such as work at a construction site
Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Stakeholder centric mindset
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Project
• Financial understanding and budget responsibility
• Project management Certification (PMP, APM, CPM)
• Agile Methodology (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
