Full Job Description
Summary BlueLinx is seeking a Regional Product Sales Manager responsible for the development and management of customer relationships for assigned products. The role can work within a multidisciplinary development team charged with strengthening and expanding our internal wood products manufacturing portfolio. The role has a keen eye for gaps in product offerings with an innovative mindset toward delivering solutions and has the ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a new product from conception to release, be a confident leader who can guide cross-functional teams to project completion and deliver products that improve customer experience and grow market share. The position is responsible for product development, planning and marketing. This includes managing the product throughout its lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product line vision, and working closely with manufacturing / engineering, to deliver a winning portfolio. The Regional Product Sales Manager works closely with Branch General Managers and Territory Managers, centralized category management and the national Marketing team to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Regional Product Sales Manager aligns resources to ensure that all product development and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals. What You'll Do 3131Drive the product and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams. 3131Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI perspective. 3131Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation. 3131Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure alignment. 3131Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments. 3131Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans. 3131Responsible for forecasting and product planning in relationship to the overall manufacturing schedule. 3131Manage stock / non-stock product life cycle, designate target lead times, and project product sunsetting strategy. 3131Works closely with branch leadership and sales as well as marketing to ensure budgeted revenue goals are met. 3131Defines the product strategy for CMA and the overall product roadmap (stock, custom, sunset) 3131Manage any third-party vendors that support the product line in product development. 3131Work with internal and external parties to establish partnerships and licensing opportunities. 3131Be an expert with respect to the competitive product landscape. 3131Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product. 3131Perform product demos to internal and external customers including trade shows. 3131Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals. 3131Deliver a monthly revenue forecast. 3131Develop sales tools and collateral. 3131Propose an overall budget to ensure success. 3131Lead virtual and live training & education at sales meetings and field events. 3131Utilizing internal and external support, drive the execution of all processes within the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch. 3131Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams. 3131Create product strategy documents designed to describe the specific business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue potential, and expected ROI. 3131Analyze market data to develop sales strategies and define product objectives for effective marketing communications. 3131Collaborates closely with engineering, production, Marketing, and the sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization 3131Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates BlueLinx across primary market segments. What We're Looking For: 3131BS/BA Degree in related field preferred. MS/MA/MBA a plus. 31316-8 years experience preferred 3131Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager 31315+ years of experience in a job in the building products industry 3131Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3131Technical background, with experience in wood materials 3131Excellent teamwork skills 3131Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. 3131Must be able to travel 25% of the time. 3131High effectiveness in working across cross-functional teams. 3131Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies. 3131Strong writing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
