Full Job Description
The Position:

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Regional Nurse Consultant to provide support, as needed, to any of our skilled nursing facilities. Regional assignments depend on the needs of our communities and Kupuna. This position is responsible for the oversight on the standards of nursing practice at their assigned community/facility and is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing clinical programs and directing overall nursing operations. Responsibilities include:
  • Provides oversight, consultative and direction on admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
  • Provides oversight of MDS assessments, care planning and RAI process. Oversees Infection Control processes.
  • Ensures continuity in provision of nursing services to meet established standards of quality such as reviews incident reports, accident and injury reports and 24-hour reports from units daily to ensure timely, effective responses to changes and resident events
  • Assists in the management of all levels of nursing employee to ensure accountability to all standards of nursing practice, quality care, and operations.
  • Responsible for the overall training of nursing staff to support clinical services and to meet and exceed established clinical competency levels.
  • Works closely with Administrator and Director of Nursing to manage staffing in accordance to census and acuity while maintaining quality of care.


Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory position in long-term care.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Improvement processes.
  • Experience with state survey process preferred.
  • Experience in geriatrics, or long-term care preferred; management experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required.
