Job Summary and Description:Position SummaryThe Regional Manager (RM) maintains and expands relationships with important members and customers in an assigned country or region, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and regional priorities. The RM represents the full range of EPRI products, services, and research capabilities while leading account planning, new business development, and value realization.
The RM Identifies member needs and brings the right EPRI capabilities, expertise, and programs to help address them, communicates regional needs inside EPRI, and demonstrates the business and technical impact of participation. The role is anchored in EPRI International's M&TS pillars: Grow, Elevate, and Leverage (GEL), which guide how the RM drives disciplined growth, strengthens trust, and extends EPRI's reach across the regional ecosystem.
The RM reports to the Senior Regional Manager and may guide or coordinate the work of Regional Advisors in the assigned country or region.
Key ResponsibilitiesGROW - Drive Sustained, Targeted Funding GrowthThe RM drives sustained funding growth in assigned accounts and countries through disciplined account planning, structured opportunity management, and proactive business development.
Account and opportunity management:- Develop and execute account, country, and regional plans to grow EPRI engagement, serve client needs, and meet assigned funding and strategic objectives.
- Lead or coordinate the sales process from needs assessment through proposal, negotiation, and close, engaging internal cross-functional support as needed.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline visibility using EPRI tools and processes, including tracking opportunities, risks, priorities, and win/loss learning.
Client needs and portfolio alignment:- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate client needs, risks, financial capabilities, and strategic issues on an ongoing basis.
- Position EPRI products, services, tools, and research outputs to meet client needs and demonstrate clear value.
- Provide objective advice based on market trends, client priorities, and relevant regional factors to guide the overall level and mix of EPRI engagement.
Internal alignment and execution:- Work as a team leader and member to achieve EPRI goals and objectives in the assigned region.
- Coordinate with sector teams, technical staff, marketing, and the Senior Regional Manager to optimize the client engagement experience.
- Support Regional Advisors by providing account direction, regional context, and coordinated execution priorities where applicable.
ELEVATE - Build Credibility, Trust, and Thought LeadershipThe RM builds credibility, trust, and visibility with members by increasing adoption of EPRI outputs, communicating impact, and representing EPRI effectively across account and regional settings.
Executive and multi-level engagement:- Establish and maintain strong, productive, professional relationships with individuals at relevant levels within client organizations, including executive, operations, R&D, maintenance, and technical teams.
- Engage executive stakeholders with a clear understanding of EPRI's value proposition and relevance to strategic business objectives.
- Represent EPRI in client meetings, stakeholder discussions, industry forums, and regional events as appropriate.
Value capture and adoption:- Actively promote implementation and broad acceptance of EPRI tools, methods, and research results within client organizations.
- Proactively capture and communicate value, impacts, and benefits for assigned clients throughout the year.
- Ensure client feedback, market signals, and product input are captured and communicated internally to support future EPRI research and product development.
Regional advocacy and portfolio relevance:- Communicate client and regional needs inside EPRI to help shape the R&D portfolio and improve relevance, usability, and adoption.
- Provide local country and regional industry issues, policy developments, and market perspectives to EPRI.
- Help members act as active R&D partners by connecting them with relevant technical staff, programs, and collaboration opportunities.
LEVERAGE - Map, Engage, and Extend the EcosystemThe RM expands EPRI's reach by understanding the broader regional ecosystem and deliberately engaging the organizations and relationships that influence decisions, execution, and impact.
Ecosystem mapping and relationship development:- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry allies, associations, government entities, regulators, system operators, laboratories, universities, technology providers, and other relevant participants in the assigned country or region.
- Identify decision-makers, influencers, and enablers that shape member priorities and regional energy-sector outcomes.
- Use ecosystem insights to increase acceptance of EPRI R&D, support strategic campaigns, and identify new funding or partnership pathways.
Regional integration and delivery:- Coordinate effective integration of EPRI marketing, technical engagement, and account activity in the assigned country or region.
- Facilitate international connections and references that help local utilities access relevant global experience and strengthen EPRI credibility.
- Support the Senior Regional Manager in ensuring EPRI engagement in the region is coherent, coordinated, and aligned with global objectives.
Ethics and compliance:- Act as an ambassador for EPRI regarding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and support compliant, transparent engagement with external stakeholders.
Education and Experience- Minimum 10 years of experience selling or managing complex technical solutions in the electric utility, energy, or similar industry, with demonstrated success in account growth.
- Bachelor's degree required in a technical discipline; engineering degree preferred; advanced degree desirable.
- Solid understanding of account management and sales practices, with ability to drive the sales process from needs assessment to close.
- Ability to engage effectively at all levels within client organizations, including executive and technical audiences.
- Ability to work toward common goals in a team environment and influence cross-functional teams to implement a shared business strategy.
- Broad understanding of the energy industry, including regional market, policy, and technology drivers.
