Full Job Description
Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, manage and direct HR policies, procedures, and practices for a region. This is a hands-on management role that will involve the standardization and implementation of new and existing policies, processes, and procedures; whilst ensuring that these initiatives are aligned to Corporate HR guidelines, goals and objectives.

What you will be doing

  • Lead, manage and develop regional HR initiatives and deliverables
  • Ensure that all regional processes and procedures are aligned to and in compliance with Corporate HR standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure that all stations are in compliance with all federal, state and company regulations and policies
  • Advise locations across business units on HR and labor relations issues
  • Advise management on issues regarding union-management relations, such as contract negotiations
  • Assist with developing and reviewing union contracts and agreements
  • Assist with the negotiating collective bargaining agreements with various unions including USW, Teamsters, SEIU and IAM
  • Partner with management to ensure implementation and compliance to HR policies, practices and union agreements
  • Meet with elected union officials and lead labor management meetings
  • Oversee dispute resolution involving employees, management, unions and government agencies
  • Manage grievance procedures
  • Stay apprised of employment law changes and industry trends in
  • Facilitate HR and labor relations training and development for management and supervisory staff
  • Train, mentor and develop HR staff
  • Collaborate with Recruitment and Training to ensure that recruitment and training initiatives are supported and implemented across the region
  • Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience in aviation, ground handling, fueling or cargo operations strongly preferred
  • Experience working with mergers and acquisitions a plus
  • Must be proficient in federal and state labor regulations (interpretation and application) with specific focus on Railway Labor Act issues
  • Must be skilled in new hire onboarding, LOA/FMLA processes, Cobra, benefits, and workers compensation processes
  • An understanding of specific labor relations needs, and challenges related to a company's collective bargaining agreements and business strategy

  • Negotiation, mediation, arbitration, problem solving, strategic thinking and leadership skills required
  • Experience in employee investigations, grievance handling, arbitration hearings and CBA negotiations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to inspire trust and confidence with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as working cross-functionally with senior management within the organization
  • Ability to perform duties independently and with a great degree of accuracy, meeting established deadlines, working effectively under continual interruptions and heavy workload
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
  • Must pass pre-employment and drug tests
  • Ability to lift 35
