Full Job Description
Alter Trading Corp., a leader in the scrap metal recycling industry, is seeking a North Little Rock based Regional Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of our equipment fleet. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, reducing costs, and maximizing equipment uptime across our regional facilities. The Regional Equipment Manager will develop and lead a robust Preventative Maintenance Program, monitor equipment performance, and collaborate with facility teams to support production goals in a fast-paced industrial environment.

What You'll Do

As the Regional Equipment Manager, you will:
  • Lead a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Manage the full equipment lifecycle-from acquisition and peak utilization to strategic disposal.
  • Monitor real-time equipment performance using advanced telematics systems (e.g., VisionLink, Komtrax, SENtrack).
  • Analyze utilization data to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
  • Oversee tire management, fluid analysis, and warranty tracking.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with facility teams and service providers to align equipment use with production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
  • Previous direct hands-on experience working on Heavy Mobile Equipment, required.
  • Proven experience in equipment management within scrap metal recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and lifecycle strategies.
  • Familiarity with telematics platforms like Caterpillar VisionLink, Komatsu Komtrax, and others.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on cost control and operational excellence.
  • Preferred Experience: Background in non-ferrous (NF) and ferrous metals, shredders, supervisory or leadership roles, inventory management, equipment operation, or operations/team lead/manager positions, Equipment Manager jobs, preventative maintenance, equipment lifecycle management, telematics systems, heavy equipment repair, scrap metal recycling, industrial maintenance, VisionLink, Komtrax, SENtrack, ActiveCare Direct, tire management, fluid analysis, warranty tracking, root cause analysis, CAPEX planning, equipment uptime, or industrial equipment manager may do well in this role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
