Position SummaryThe
Regional Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for advancing safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability performance across Active Minerals International operations. As a member of the leadership team, this role provides strategic direction, technical expertise, and hands-on support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Huber Sustainability Management System. The Regional EHS Manager champions a culture of continuous improvement, develops EHS talent, and partners with operational leaders to reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and achieve world-class environmental, health, and safety performance. Position may be based in
Macon, GA or Atlanta, GA or Tallahassee, FL.Principal Duties & Responsibilities- Lead environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
- Oversee permit management, compliance reporting, audits, monitoring programs, and corrective action processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems aligned with the Huber Sustainability Management System and applicable ISO standards.
- Coach, develop, and mentor EHS professionals while building organizational capability and engagement.
- Partner with operations leaders to identify risks, conduct root cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Lead EHS integration activities related to acquisitions, new operations, and business expansion initiatives.
- Conduct risk assessments, process hazard reviews, industrial hygiene activities, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the Huber Sustainability Management System and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and key external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership reporting, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to improve EHS&S performance.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 8-10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience supporting manufacturing, mining, industrial, or chemical operations.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety, environmental regulations, compliance systems, and risk management practices.
- Experience with ISO-based management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence site leadership, and drive organizational change.
- Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing, heavy manufacturing, mining, or mineral processing environments preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50% across facilities.
