Regional Director of Operations based in
Gulf Shores, Alabama to lead 8-12
Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt hotels, including
Courtyard, Fairfield, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Hyatt Studios.Most of your portfolio is in
Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Foley, one of the busiest beach markets in the Southeast and a short drive from home base. You'll also lead our growing
Southwest Florida presence, including the
Holiday Inn Express in Nokomis and the new
Hyatt Studios in Venice, opening in 2027.Unlike many regional roles, you won't live out of a suitcase. You'll spend most of your days in your own hotels, building leaders and driving results.

As RDO, you're the leader behind the General Managers. You'll coach them, challenge them, and help them win, from the spring break rush through the summer peak and into the off-season. You'll report directly to the
President of Hospitality, with real visibility, real decision-making authority, and a real voice in how A&R runs and grows its hotels. Your results will be easy to see.
What You'll OwnGeneral Manager Leadership & Talent Development- Directly supervise, coach, and develop 8-12 Hotel General Managers, and set clear goals and hold them accountable
- Interview, hire, onboard, and transition GMs in partnership with Human Resources
- Facilitate fact-finding at hotels when employee relations issues arise, in partnership with Human Resources, so concerns are handled fairly, consistently, and with proper documentation
- Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and recognize strong results
- Lead regular GM meetings focused on key performance measures and action plans
- Build a pipeline of future General Managers from within
New Hotel Opening - Hyatt Studios Venice, FL- Lead operational readiness for the opening of the Hyatt Studios in Venice, FL
- Partner with leadership to recruit and hire the opening General Manager and support building the hotel team
- Make sure brand onboarding, systems setup, training, and opening standards are completed on schedule
- Ramp the hotel up quickly to meet revenue, guest satisfaction, and profit goals after opening
Brand Standards, Policy & Compliance- Ensure every hotel meets Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt brand standards, quality assurance requirements, and franchise obligations
- Consistently enforce A&R company policies, brand policies, and Standard Operating Procedures across all hotels, and hold GMs accountable when standards aren't met
- Train and retrain General Managers on company and brand policies, procedures, and systems when gaps are identified, standards change, or new GMs join the team
- Prepare properties for brand quality audits and make sure corrective action plans are completed on time
- Make sure GMs and key associates complete brand-required training and certifications
- Maintain guest and associate safety, security, and regulatory compliance
P&L Management & Financial Performance- Develop and execute each hotel's annual business plan and budget
- Conduct regular P&L reviews with each GM and direct corrective action as needed
- Benchmark results against budget, forecast, A&R peer hotels, brand averages, and the competitive set
- Drive labor management and cost control to protect flow-through, GOP, and NOI
- Make sure accruals are completed and invoices are reviewed, coded, approved, and paid in the correct period
- Oversee proper handling of deposits, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Revenue Management, Sales & Market Share- Partner with revenue management on pricing and revenue strategy for each hotel, and take part in revenue calls
- Grow occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and market share (STR/CoStar indexes) against the competitive set
- Support each property's sales and marketing plan, and hold salespeople accountable for production against segmentation goals
- Get the most from Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, and World of Hyatt
Guest Experience & Associate Engagement- Drive guest satisfaction scores that meet or beat brand targets
- Monitor guest feedback and online reputation, and make sure GMs act on trends
- Build a positive, accountable culture that improves associate engagement and retention
Asset Management & Capital Planning- Conduct detailed property inspections covering condition, operations, and GM performance
- Make sure preventative maintenance programs are in place and tracked
- Identify capital expenditure needs and follow projects through to completion
- Support Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and renovations, including the extra upkeep coastal hotels need
- Lead hurricane preparedness and storm recovery across Alabama and Florida so teams and hotels are ready to reopen
Procurement & Vendor Management- Manage the purchase order process to keep spending within budget and A&R standards
- Make sure supplies, purchasing, and inventory controls are in place
- Track vendor contract dates with GMs and procurement, and renegotiate before renewal for the best pricing
Reporting & Systems- Review operating and audit reports, and guest feedback, to confirm labor, preventative maintenance, revenue, and audit controls are in place
- Review GM checklists and audit reports with each General Manager
- Maintain accurate reporting and record keeping at each hotel and on corporate systems
- Keep leadership updated on wins, risks, and priorities
- Track the A&R scorecard: NOI, GOP, RevPAR, Market Share Index (MSI), brand quality assurance, Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI), Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI), and labor and cost ratios

- Every hotel passes its brand audits and follows company policy consistently
- The Hyatt Studios Venice opens strong and ramps up fast
- Guest scores rise and turnover falls
- Employee issues are handled quickly, fairly, and by the book
- At least one of your GMs is ready for a bigger role because you developed them
Requirements- 5+ years of hotel operations experience, including 3+ years as a Hotel General Manager
- Branded hotel experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and/or Hyatt
- Proven P&L ownership, budgeting, and cost control, with a track record of beating budget
- Strong knowledge of revenue management and STR/CoStar market share reporting
- Excellent coaching, training, communication, and organizational skills
- Sound judgment in enforcing policy and handling employee relations matters with HR
- Ability to travel overnight periodically to hotels in Southwest Florida
- A valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required as a condition of employment. This role involves regular travel between properties in Baldwin County, AL and periodic travel to Nokomis and Venice, FL. Candidates without all three cannot be considered.

The Details- Location: On-site, based in Gulf Shores, AL
- Portfolio: Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Foley, AL, plus Nokomis, FL and Venice, FL (opening 2027)
- Travel: Primarily local, with periodic overnight travel to Southwest Florida
- Schedule: Full-time, salaried exempt. Hotels run 24/7, so expect some evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability, especially during peak season, openings, and storm events
- Reports to: President of Hospitality
