Role Overview
The Regional Director, Continuous Improvement & Engineering leads industrial engineering and continuous improvement strategy across a network of distribution centers. This role is accountable for driving measurable improvements in safety, service, productivity, cost performance, and employee engagement through scalable operational excellence initiatives.
Operating at a director level, this role partners with senior operations leadership to define priorities, lead cross-functional programs, and deliver sustained business impact across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
• Lead the strategy and execution of continuous improvement initiatives across regional distribution center operations
• Partner with Distribution Centre leadership to assess operational performance, identify gaps, and define future-state solutions aligned to business priorities
• Drive measurable improvements across key metrics including safety, service, compliance, productivity, and cost
• Establish and lead governance routines (e.g., management reviews) to monitor performance, track progress, and ensure accountability
• Build and manage a multi-year continuous improvement roadmap aligned to regional and enterprise objectives
• Apply and champion lean and industrial engineering methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S) to improve operational performance
• Identify systemic risks and opportunities through data analysis and performance monitoring across the network
• Develop, own, and communicate industrial engineering KPIs and program outcomes to senior leadership
• Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and financial performance
Engineering & Network Optimization
• Lead distribution center design and optimization, including layout, storage strategy, material handling equipment (MHE) selection, and flow optimization
• Evaluate facility capacity and utilization trends to inform network strategy and long-term planning
• Support network alignment activities including DC start-ups, product flow strategy, and channel optimization
• Apply advanced data analysis and modelling to inform resource planning, labor standards, and infrastructure requirements
• Develop business cases, financial models, and investment recommendations to support capital and operational improvements
• Ensure successful execution of engineering and optimization projects, including stakeholder alignment and change management
• Partner across McKesson Canada and U.S. networks to identify and scale best practices
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• Progressive leadership experience in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, or operations within a distribution or manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions and regions
• Experience building and executing strategic roadmaps and driving organizational change
Preferred Qualifications
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification
• Deep expertise in warehouse and distribution operations
• Experience with automation, labor management systems, and network optimization
• Knowledge of regulatory environments (e.g., cGMPs)
• Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$132,900 - $221,500
