The Digital Engineering Team promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model-based services and technologies.  The group defines the company strategy around the use of BIMs, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule.

Leveraging the design, engineering, and construction knowledge of Suffolk and Suffolk Design, the Digital Engineering Team is charged with executing Digital Delivery and creating innovative solutions in tech and process to ensure Suffolk is the best contractor in every region it operates.

The Regional Manager is accountable for the execution of Digital Engineering in their portfolio. This is a Leadership role that is also responsible for the pursuit, clients, and stakeholder management roles within their BU or Region as a subset to the overall Region. Ownership of the project roadmap from initial integration to final sign-off, synchronizing multiple stakeholders (e.g. clients, project teams, trades, etc.) into a single, cohesive workflow. You ensure the services offered by Digital Engineering are lived processes that deliver constructible certainty, while providing all roll up reporting metrics for projects, people, and process to the Director to support regional resource planning, and overall regional management.  This role is responsible for all work under them either through them or through direct reports.

Digital Delivery is Suffolk’s industry-leading process to deliver completed and coordinated drawings to project teams prior to work in place.  Digital Delivery has been a Standard Operating Procedure at Suffolk and is one of Suffolk’s most effective tools to ensure our projects are on time and on budget.  Acknowledging the success we have seen, the Digital Engineering Team is focused on ensuring that it continues to differentiate Suffolk amongst its competitors. This position is responsible for the seamless execution for the evolving workflows into the overall Digital Delivery execution from start to finish. This role works directly with Suffolk Design, operations, construction technology, data, operational excellence, and marketing amongst other verticals.

• Manage the successful delivery of Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Digital Delivery for Suffolk’s Florida and USVI Region.

• Develop BIM Execution Plans and Digital Engineering strategies that achieve/exceed Suffolk and our clients’ goals. 

• Develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for Digital Engineering services for projects and pursuits. 

• Develop 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, & 7D models to support pursuits, preconstruction, construction, and handover phases. 

• Manage DE/VDC/DD on multiple large and complex projects simultaneously.  Drive the coordination process hard, while understanding competing interests, creating a balanced outcome for all stakeholders. 

• Ensure successful project team experiences with all approved 3rd party vendors. 

• Collect, track, and report project data and KPIs; implement processes for continual improvement. 

• Create reports and presentations on analytical findings for delivery to senior management.  

• Train regional teams, project teams, and trade partners on all Digital Delivery aspects, software and tools related to digital engineering. Provide training and support of software and tools to project teams. 

• Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams. 

• Manage a growing team focused on customer (project teams) and client success and satisfaction.  Responsible for excellence in delivery every time. 

• Communicates with impact; manages stakeholder relationships to drive improvements that benefit the projects and Suffolk. Present as a credible and knowledgeable specialist in design, construction, VFC and emerging tech.  

• Collaborate with Regional Leadership teams to understand local delivery challenges and customize workflows where appropriate.  

• 4-year degree in an accredited industry related curriculum. 

• Minimum 8-10 years of VDC related design and/or construction experience with demonstrated progression of technical knowledge and responsibilities. 

• Proven success leading VDC on multiple large and complex projects simultaneously. Experience with complex projects and different building types required. 

• Substantial understanding of general construction techniques and systems. Ability to identify coordination issues, propose solutions, and drive teams towards solutions. 

• Advanced capability in 3D parametric modeling software and model coordination software. Ability to produce quantity takeoff extraction, clash detection, creation of custom Revit families, 4D simulations integrating construction schedule, and rendering high-quality images of models. 

• Proven capability with mentoring and training; experience managing direct reports
• Strong written and oral communication; skilled in teaching, training, and presentations
• Customer-focused; ability to engage stakeholders and drive customer outcomes 
• Must be willing to work from either the West Palm Beach or Miami office initially, with the expectation of relocating to the St. Thomas office at a later date.

Base Salary for this position is just one component of Suffolk’s total compensation package.  Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.  Suffolk offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation strategy.
