Job Description

Responsibilities

Drives consistent execution of technical standards in the field through regular branch visits,in-field service rides, and hands-on coaching to Canadian operations,salesand Care teams on agronomic and horticultural elements of service delivery.

Assist Branch Management in diagnostic problem solving concerning strategic operations, training needs, customer program development, and fleet/equipmentutilization. Conducts in-branch observations and ride-alongsto assess technician performance and application quality.  Delivers real-time coaching to Branch Managementand technicians to improve execution. 

Participates in on-property program assessment for compliance and service delivery performance to provide guidance and direction needed to improve branch performance.

Aligns corporate strategies toestablishregional chemical programs and financial goals with branch service programs/standards.

Verifies branch compliance with environmental, safety, and chemical use policies for reporting, planning and financial budgeting, and regulatory compliance.Identifiesskill gaps and delivers targeted retraining at underperforming branches. Develops simple, field-ready training tools for frontline leaders

Assistsin the development of customer communication requirements to meet the needs and ensure local, provincial, and federal regulatory compliance.

Conducts annual supplier evaluations and strategic sourcing reviews todeterminevendor and product selection for service delivery programs.

Oversight of branch serviceproductand equipment purchasing.

Monitors and assesses chemical expenditures to guide Branch Management on chemical budgeting and usage.

Provide service product and pricingexpertiseto commercial staff and assistin key account reviews, including tender bids.

Provides leadership and representationrelativeto industry trade association,governmentand public relations.

Partners with academia and vendors to seek innovative solutions to current and future needs. 

Provide branch support thatfacilitatesboth English and French communication needs.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a related fieldrequired;Bachelor’sdegree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant agronomic experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of agronomic technical experience supporting branch-based service operations, including developing product-usespecificationsand applying agronomic expertiseto support marketing, sales, and customer service functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to transfer technical and product knowledge through training, coaching, and field support to operational and sales teams

  • Have, or ability to obtain, all service specific pesticide licenses and related accreditations from the province of residence.

  • Valid, permanent driver’s license fromprovinceof residence. Current liability auto insurance required.

  • French language capability preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Deep working knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, and soil science, applied in real-world service delivery environments. 

  • Strong understanding of Canadian federal and provincial regulations governing pesticide, fertilizer, and chemical use, including licensing, application restrictions, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, executable expectations for branch teams.

  • Proven ability to teach and transfer technical knowledge to frontline employees with varying levels of experience.

  • Skilled at breaking down complex technical information into simple, practical guidance for technicians and BranchManagement.

  • Experience developing and delivering hands-on training, onboarding support, and skill reinforcement in a field setting.

  • Training anddevelopmentknowledge and skills to develop, design, and deliver technical knowledge and expertiseto audiences of varying skill levels.

  • Strong knowledge of safe handling, storage, and application of chemicals and equipment.

  • Ability toidentifyrisks and drive corrective actions to prevent incidents and ensure compliance

  • Experience supporting or leading incident reviews and follow-up action plans.

•Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

•Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to field teams, leadership groups, and customers.  Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, from technicians to senior leaders. 

•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as chemical concentrations, environmental risk assessments, percentages, area, and volume. 

•Research and problem-solving skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

•Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).  Experience using data and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to identify trends and guide decisions. Comfortable working with digital tools to support training, communication, and reporting.
