Job Overview

Stevens & Lee is seeking a talented and motivated Real Estate Associate to join our Lancaster office. This associate will work as part of a collaborative and sophisticated real estate practice, with a particular focus on zoning, land use, and development matters. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of law firm experience representing developers, property owners, investors, businesses, and other stakeholders in land use and transactional real estate matters particularly in conjunction with development projects. Familiarity with Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) and local zoning and land development regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities (responsibilities include but not limited to)
  • Represent clients in zoning, land development, and land use matters before municipal boards, planning commissions, zoning hearing boards, and governing bodies.
  • Advise clients on zoning ordinances, subdivision and land development regulations, permitting requirements, and entitlement processes.
  • Assist clients with due diligence and regulatory review for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Draft and review zoning applications, land development submissions, easement agreements, restrictive covenants, and related real estate documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding land use, municipal, and real estate issues.
  • Attend public hearings, municipal meetings, and client meetings.
  • Work independently and in teams.


Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
