Job Summary:
The React Web Developer Lead will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing scalable web applications using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring experience leading a team of 3-5 senior React developers while maintaining ownership of product development and delivery. The candidate will drive technical decisions, promote secure coding practices, improve development processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications. The preferred locations are Denver, Colorado, or Atlanta, Georgia; remote candidates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, architect, and develop application modules using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to a team of 3-5 senior React developers.
• Lead technical design discussions, review code, and ensure development standards and best practices are followed.
• Drive end-to-end ownership of product development, technical delivery, and implementation outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical solutions, manage expectations, and constructively challenge unrealistic requirements when necessary.
• Design and implement solutions involving APIs and microservices architecture.
• Promote secure development practices, including clean coding, encryption, obfuscation, and application security principles.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance engineering efficiency, code quality, and team performance.
• Support team growth through technical mentoring, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with appropriate linting, code quality, and validation stages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure web applications.
• Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
• Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Proven experience designing, architecting, and developing application modules.
• Experience leading and mentoring 3-5 senior React developers.
• Strong understanding of APIs and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, including encryption, obfuscation, and application security principles.
• Demonstrated ownership of product development and technical delivery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical challenges and constructively push back on unrealistic expectations.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and team-oriented approach with a focus on low-ego leadership.
• Experience driving process improvements and supporting team development.
• Ability to discuss and demonstrate websites or applications personally developed or significantly contributed to.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Full-stack development experience, particularly with serverless and microservices architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure; exposure to AWS or GCP is also valuable.
• Experience in payments, application security, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines with linting and code quality checks.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into web applications.
