The Radiology Department is a specialty medical service that offers a wide range of imaging techniques to diagnose and treat a broad range of medical conditions. The Diagnostic Section utilizes ionizing radiation through the use x-rays, radiography and fluoroscopy. At UCSF Medical Center, we offer the full spectrum of techniques, using the most advanced equipment. Combined with X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Bone Densitometry, Mammography, CT scans, MRI, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional we perform more than 500,000 procedures annually. In fact, a number of radiology advancements and applications were developed here

The Radiology Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing Interventional and Neuro Interventional imaging procedures across the entire UCSF enterprise. This position involves coordinating multiple departments and locations within medical centers and imaging centers. With a team of over 25 employees, the manager ensures 24/7 coverage for inpatient and outpatient services. Additionally, they represent the Radiology Department in hospital committees, contribute to construction projects, and assist in selecting new equipment. They are responsible for overseeing the operations of all interventional and neurointerventional modalities at Mount Zion, Parnassus, and Mission Bay campuses.

The reporting structure for this position has both direct and indirect reports consisting of: IR/NIR Supervisors, Interventional / Neuro-Interventional Technologists and support staff. Other personnel responsibilities will include hiring new employees, cross-training initiatives, organizing the workflow, coordination of daily work schedules, knowledgeable in all procedures, enhancing image quality, enforcing patient safety and understanding of the union environment.

Responsibilities

The Manager will operate at the highest level to provide management and other professionals with technical expertise and expert knowledge on Radiology Interventional / Neuro Interventional imaging.

• Manage and oversee all Interventional and Neuro Interventional imaging procedures across UCSF.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments and locations to ensure efficient and effective imaging services.
• Lead a team of over 25 employees, providing guidance and support for 24/7 inpatient and outpatient coverage.
• Represent the Radiology Department in hospital committees, contributing to discussions and decisions.
• Participate in construction projects related to imaging facilities, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Assist in the selection and implementation of new imaging equipment, staying updated with the latest technology.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines for imaging procedures.
• Mentor and develop staff, providing training and support for professional growth.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for imaging procedures and patient data.

Qualifications

Required:

• Requires 3-5 years previous Radiology management or supervisory experience in acute care setting
• Current licensure or certification as required by the state for Radiology professionals. Requires California Radiologic Technologist (CRT). Requires ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. Requires Advanced Level Certification in ARRT
• Requires excellent organizational skills and communication skills and the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities. Requires the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities. Requires competency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams in the Radiology enterprise that interfaces with staff, departments and physicians throughout the UCSF system.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of hospital operations, including inpatient and outpatient services.
• Familiarity with medical imaging technologies and procedures, including Interventional and Neuro Interventional techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and electronic medical records.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Fosters teambuilding the relationship building.
• Requires flexibility in staffing and rotating to other sites.
• Willingness to rotate weekends, holidays and other shifts

Salary Information

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
