As a
Radio Chemist, you'll play a key role in isotope production projects involving cyclotron-generated radionuclides. Under the guidance of senior team members, you'll act as a primary stakeholder for assigned project tasks, contributing to chemical separation workflows, documentation, and laboratory experiments.
Responsibilities- Documentation initiation, updates and releasing for new isotope programs. Draft, revise, and maintain SOPs, batch records, and technical documentation.
- Participate in target material and target design
- Work closely with engineering teams to design, evaluate, and optimize fixtures, tools, and other equipment for improved hot-cell operations.
- Developing, refining, and executing chemical separation and purification workflows, with emphasis on ion exchange and other radiochemical methods.
- Work closely with cross functional team, such as radiation physics, health physics, cyclotron operations, quality, engineering, logistics, etc..
- Perform laboratory experiments, data collection, and analytical measurements.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, cGMP, ISO-based quality systems, and radiation safety requirements.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or similar area. Must have wet lab experience in a Chem lab.
- Experience with separation chemistry; ion exchange chromatography strongly preferred.
- Experience with spectroscopy techniques including IR, ICP-MS, gamma spectroscopy, UV-Vis, and ICP-OES.
- Familiar or experience in radiochemistry, radioisotope production, or nuclear materials.
- Ability to interpret workflow requirements and translate them into equipment lists, process steps, and technical specifications.
- Strong documentation skills, comfortable drafting and revising SOPs and technical procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Skills- Experience or coursework in nuclear science, cyclotron systems, or radiation physics.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD tools, or mechanical prototyping is a plus but not must to have.
- Awareness of GMP, cGMP, and ISO quality systems.
- Exposure to hot-cell operations or shielded environments is ideal.
