Position SummaryAcuren is seeking an experienced
Radiation Safety Officer III based in
Edmonton, Alberta, to support multiple clients and operational teams across the business.
This position will provide technical guidance and oversight for radiation safety programs, supporting safe operations and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, license conditions and client standards. Working closely with operations, field personnel and clients, the successful candidate will lead program improvements, support training and promote consistent radiation safety practices across multiple locations
Position Information- Position will be located in our Edmonton offices
- Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
- Permanent full time
Responsibilities- Maintain and improve radiation safety programs to meet CNSC requirements, licence conditions and company standards.
- Provide technical guidance and radiation safety support to multiple clients and operational teams.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Oversee dosimetry, radiation monitoring equipment and controls for the use, storage and transportation of radioactive sources.
- Deliver radiation safety training and mentor personnel in safe work practices.
- Support incident investigations, emergency preparedness, regulatory reporting and licence documentation.
Requirements- 5 years relevant experience managing radiation safety programs in industrial radiography or NDT
- 40 Hour RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) certificate
- CGSB CEDO is required with RT2 being considered an asset
- Source retrieval and Exposure device maintenance certificates considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of CNSC requirements, radiation protection principles and applicable transportation regulations.
- Experience with dosimetry, radiation monitoring equipment, audits and incident investigations.
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support multiple clients and locations.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
