R&D Engineer

Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 annually (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research to develop new 3D printing resins and photopolymerization formulations for digital dentistry.
  • Manufacture, characterize, and test polymer resins to define requirements for next-generation dental products.
  • Scale up R&D formulations and provide continuous support to resin production and manufacturability improvements.
  • Optimize resin settings and establish materials standards to meet quality, usability, and print consistency requirements.
  • Prepares R&D documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization in workshop area.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures constantly.
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis on user experience to drive product features and reliability improvements.
  • Monitor top product failure modes and provide manufacturing knowledge to QA to reduce production costs.
  • Maintain a functional Mechanical workshop and maintain inventory level of the R&D department.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience developing, manufacturing, characterizing, and testing polymer or photopolymer resin systems.
  • Strong understanding of photopolymerization chemistry, resin formulations, and additive technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with materials characterization, laboratory testing, and experimental design.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data to support technical decisions.
  • Knowledge of polymer and materials science principles, including structure-property relationships.
  • Familiarity with dental materials, additive manufacturing, or medical device products is preferred.
  • Experience supporting process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical, data-driven approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
