Full Job Description
Amentum is looking for a Quality Specialist to join our team in McLean, VA! As a Quality Specialist, you will plan and direct activities concerning the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards, this includes technical data and written procedures along with our Statement of Work and state laws. You will be ensuring Amentums' services and processes meet high standards, legal rules and customer needs; preventing defects, driving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, and protecting Amentums' reputation.

Work Schedule: 5 days/week, 8 hrs/day on site with the expectation of occasional irregular hours, on-call responses, or weekend support based on facility needs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct after the fact and in-progress inspections on equipment, construction jobs, projects, grounds maintenance, and custodial jobs utilizing technical data and job plans and doing follow-up inspections when deficiencies are found.
  • Conduct facility walk-throughs checking public areas for damage, dirt, and safety hazards, and testing doors, lights and locks.
  • Verify sub-contractor work meets standards.
  • Conduct safety checks ensuring fire exits stay clear, eye-wash stations and first aid kits are in good condition and confirm staff follow safety rules.
  • Log activities into MAXIMO, Shared Drive or onto forms, report broken items to maintenance teams and speak to managers about urgent fixes.
  • Track key performance indexes, through data collection, inspections and metrics reporting, observing department objectives and writing reports.
  • Assist departments in developing procedures and forms and organize them on the Shared Drive.
  • Collect customer feedback and do a root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions applied when required.
  • Take part in and lead improvement initiatives throughout the Program.


Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Mix of indoor offices, maintenance shops, and outdoor facility grounds. Exposure to non-climate-controlled areas, weather changes, dust, and loud mechanical noise. Required use of hard hats, safety boots, eye protection, and earplugs when required. Frequent standing, walking across large facilities, bending, crouching, and climbing stairs or ladders. Ability to lift up to 25-40 pounds. Using hands for close-up physical measurements and handling small testing devices. High attention to detail to spot minor structural, mechanical, or custodial flaws. Interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance standards. Documenting non-conformance reports and explaining issues clearly to maintenance crews or managers.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • High school diploma, 2 years of facility or construction maintenance experience
  • Core skills in technical blueprint reading, defect identification, and compliance documentation
  • A valid state driver's license


Security Clearance Required: Must possess a Top Secret US Government clearance with polygraph. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret clearance with polygraph.

Minimum Education: High school diploma

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of facility or construction maintenance experience

Compensation Details:
$85,000 - $100,000
