OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager to join us at our Madison Plant! This individual will be responsible for the development, implementation and sustaining of the quality management system (QMS) for our Madison location. They will ensure that processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained, track and monitor departmental KPI’s and projects, and report to senior leaders on the performance of the QMS and any process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Maintains ultimate responsibility for the ground-up development, implementation and maintaining of the quality management system (QMS) for the Madison plant to ensure consistent product quality, process control, customer satisfaction, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that the quality management system achieves consistency, continuous improvement, customer compliance, satisfaction, and execution of quality.
- Responsible for qualification process for new/updated equipment, new products and new/updated processes.
- Establish and maintain practical quality standards, procedures, work instructions, inspection criteria, and documentation controls appropriate for the manufacturing operation.
- Leads the deployment and execution of the process control system (SPC, gage control, process FEMA, control plans) across the Madison Plant.
- Provide leadership and direction for plant quality activities, including in-process inspection, final inspection/testing, product release, nonconforming material control, and quality records.
- Develop and monitor quality KPIs, including scrap, rework, first-pass yield, customer complaints, internal defects, supplier defects, process CpK’s, cost of poor quality, corrective-action effectiveness, and other relevant performance measures.
- Lead structured root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions for significant internal defects, customer complaints, supplier issues, and process failures, using appropriate problem-solving methodologies
- Manage customer quality issues and complaints, including containment, investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective action, response preparation, and verification of effectiveness.
- Maintain an effective corrective-action system that includes ownership, due dates, root-cause analysis, action implementation, effectiveness verification, and closure.
- Coach supervisors, operators, technicians, and other employees in quality tools and problem-solving techniques, such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, Pareto analysis, control plans, mistake-proofing, statistical methods, and structured corrective action.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other functions to establish effective process controls and integrate quality requirements into daily manufacturing activities.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, networking, benchmarking, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing management-related major, or industrial or quality engineering major, and three to five years related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Requires experience in the Quality Sciences, problem solving tools, and project management.
- Requires knowledge of and experience in the current ISO standard environment.
