Full Job Description
Advanced Mission Partners, a wholly owned subsidiary of SSAI, is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure all products meet rigorous aerospace, defense, and commercial electronics standards. They will be responsible for employing and integrating risk-based thinking, risk mitigation, prevention, and independent oversight principles into daily operations, to ensure the integrity and consistency of all products and compliance to industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100). The individual will maintain rigorous process control and drive continuous improvement efforts via the PDCA cycle, internal auditing, and/or regular reviews, and issue work stoppages when critical nonconformances are identified, safeguarding the organization's reputation for reliability and regulatory excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and evolve the internal Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Lead Quality and Top Management Reviews, monitoring QMS health, quality metrics, KPIs, risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the Continuous Improvement program, including identification, assignment, implementation, tracking, and effectiveness verification of improvement actions.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee comprehensive inspection operations, including receiving, in-process, final, source, and product lifecycle inspections.
  • Perform and validate specialized inspection activities using X-ray, Optical Comparator, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
  • Review and approve assembly instructions, manufacturing activities, procurement activities, inspection documentation, and required certifications, including Certificates of Conformance, FAIs, and external inspection/test data.
  • Manage defects, Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), root cause analysis (RCA), risk mitigation, corrective/preventive actions, and effectiveness checks.
  • Ensure product safety and compliance throughout the product lifecycle, including applicable contractual, regulatory, and industry requirements (e.g., IPC, J-STD).
  • Lead internal and external audit activities, including audit scheduling, criteria development, auditor assignments, data review, task tracking, and follow-up; serve as the primary quality point of contact for customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct supplier quality activities, including vendor verification and audits, source inspections, supplier performance analysis, and management of the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Analyze quality and supplier performance metrics to provide data-driven insights for management reviews and strategic decision-making.
  • Manage counterfeit parts prevention, serving as the GIDEP representative and owner of the internal Counterfeit Parts Prevention Plan.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and J-STD-001 Space Addendum certifications required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ISO 9001, AS9100 Rev D, and ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of risk-based thinking, risk management, and quality management principles.
  • Experience applying Lean principles and 5S methodologies.
  • Proficiency operating Optical Comparator and X-ray inspection equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively coordinate quality and inspection activities.
  • Experience with FactoryLogix Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience with MaintainX asset management software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint.
