Quality Manager - Manufacturing / Rubber Products

Location: Surrey, British Columbia
Work Arrangement: Onsite


What you’ll do
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Surrey BC quality team, including Quality Control Inspectors, to ensure all quality and Weir objectives are met. Daily activities include organizing inspection schedules and resource allocation across shifts to maintain quality coverage. Success means a well-coordinated team delivering consistent quality outcomes.


• Quality Process Management: Administer and maintain key quality processes such as ISO9001 QMS internal audits, calibration of inspection and test equipment, and review and resolution of customer complaints and nonconformance related to rubber products. Daily tasks involve overseeing documentation and corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.


• Customer and Supplier Quality Support: Review customer quality requirements, prepare and submit inspection test plans (ITPs), and manage supplier nonconformance reports to support production teams in Surrey and Elliot Lake. Success is measured by timely and accurate quality documentation and positive customer feedback.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Scheduling, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all stages of production and project execution. This includes attending project kick-off meetings and liaising with third-party inspectors and regulatory bodies.

• Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel is expected, primarily for visiting customer sites and supporting quality activities at the Elliot Lake, ON facility.

What you’ll bring


Must-haves:
• University degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years in Quality Engineering or related fields such as Engineering, Procurement, or Fabrication.
• Valid ISO9001 internal auditor certification and experience working within an ISO9001 environment is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with strong organizational and computer skills.


Nice-to-haves:
• Experience supervising quality teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Eligibility for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (BC).

• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions effectively.

Compensation: $95,000 - 115,000 CAD
