Quality Management Specialist | Bouten Construction Company | Tri-Cities, WA
We are looking for an experienced Quality Management Specialist to help strengthen and advance quality across our projects and organization. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who understands construction from both the field and project management perspective and enjoys getting ahead of challenges before they become problems.
As our Quality Management Specialist, you'll partner with preconstruction, operations, project teams, design partners, owners, and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle. From constructability reviews and project quality planning to field observations, lessons learned, and continuous improvement, you'll help our teams deliver high-quality work while reducing risk, rework, and variation.
Job Responsibilities

- Lead and support constructability reviews throughout preconstruction and design development, bringing together the right team members to identify and resolve potential issues early.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, project teams, and subject matter experts to identify constructability concerns and improve the quality and completeness of construction documents.
- Partner with project teams to develop project-specific quality plans that address key risks, owner expectations, contract requirements, and Bouten standards.
- Review plans, specifications, details, and project requirements to identify constructability and quality concerns.
- Proactively identify high-risk scopes, installations, materials, and activities and work with project teams to develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Participate in pre-installation meetings, mock-ups, first-work installations, quality inspections, and other critical quality activities.
- Conduct and support project quality audits to help teams identify and address potential deficiencies before they impact the project.
- Support the documentation, tracking, and resolution of quality observations and corrective actions within Procore.
- Partner with project teams to coordinate required testing, special inspections, nondestructive testing, and third-party quality consultants.
- Provide quality support across multiple projects at varying stages of pursuit, preconstruction, and construction.
- Facilitate and participate in project retrospectives and lessons learned, identifying recurring trends and helping translate those lessons into improvements for future projects.
- Develop and deliver quality-related training, tools, and resources that strengthen quality knowledge across the organization.
- Analyze quality observations, rework, warranty issues, nonconformance, and other project data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the ongoing development, implementation, and improvement of Bouten's Quality Management System.
- Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement by applying Lean principles, sharing best practices, and helping teams find better ways to build.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience.
- Experience with building envelope systems and/or mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems.
- Background or experience in engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline is preferred.

- Salary Range: $75,000 - $93,000.
