Full Job Description
This role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of approximately two days per week on site. On-site requirements may vary based on business needs, team meetings, training, and operational priorities.

As a Senior Quality Improvement Specialist, you’ll partner with clinical and operational leaders to analyze performance data, uncover trends, and lead quality improvement initiatives across systems and sites. Working closely within the communities you support, you’ll help connect strategy to execution and drive sustainable improvements that strengthen organizational performance. Job Summary

Drives projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Work assignments are typically more complex involving multi-disciplinary teams. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and drives sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable quality improvement. Collects and analyzes process and/or quality data to initiate, develop, and influence operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced quality outcomes. Facilitates large improvement projects in coordination with leaders and providers to drive continuous improvement. Flexible in adapting to changing priorities. Mentors colleagues in improvement science application across the organization. Drives strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.

Essential Functions
  • Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities (project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy).

  • Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders. Also ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.

  • Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.

  • Proficient application of improvement sciences to drive quality performance in regulatory, accreditation and publicly-reported programs.

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate benchmarked quality data and trends to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.

  • Mentor and share quality improvement knowledge and skills across the organization.

  • Drive strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.

  • Support regulatory, accreditation, and publicly reported quality programs, including data collection, validation, and submission to external agencies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Healthcare related field

  • 5 years of Quality improvement, performance improvement, project management or related field

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare related field

  • RN – State of Michigan

  • 2 years of Participation on improvement initiatives

  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), IHI Open School

  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), IHI Improvement Coach Program

  • CRT-Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified (CPHQ) - NAHQ National Association for Healthcare Quality Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
