Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring Quality KPI's to ensure compliance with standards, identifying issues, implementing solutions and creating quality documentation to ensure that high quality products are delivered globally to meet VJX's stringent quality and safety standards.

Onsite, 5 days a week in our Global Headquarters in Bohemia NY, 11716

Job Description:
  • Ensure products meet or exceed customer and VJ X-Ray's expectations and demands
  • Execute the inspection and testing of products to confirm quality and conformance to product specifications
  • Identify any problems and/or root causes in the production process and assist in implementing applicable, corrective actions
  • Analyze and assist in investigating product complaints or reported quality issues and implementing applicable, corrective actions to ensure resolution
  • Maintain logs for identifying and reporting issues to Management, Engineering and Sales Teams
  • Create and maintain reports and communicate findings and corrective actions on a regular basis to management
  • Follow up with suppliers on corrective actions
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales and Quality Teams to manage document control, the revision process and procedures, as necessary
  • Identify, initiate and potentially lead improvement projects
  • Provide training to staff, vendors and customers as needed
  • Potential travel to customer sites or other VJ Group entities worldwide to participate in product repairs or updates
  • Follow all VJX and OSHA workplace safety requirements and policies

Essential Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related quality or electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practices
  • Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods and tools
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills enabling effective communication internally and externally using all available methods of communication
  • Technical aptitude coupled with a sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, BOM's, blueprints, drawings and schematics
  • Understand ECN process; execute and document required ECN tasks
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to quickly assess situations and take appropriate action
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Will need to maintain a work schedule that supports New York and Suzhou Teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Will need to successfully pass a personal background check and drug screenings

Non-Essential Skills:

  • Familiarity with x-ray technology
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Experience working with Global Shop Solutions (GSS)


Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, bend, stoop and stand within both an office and an industrial environment
  • Will need to repeatedly use hands & fingers to operate basic office equipment and potentially operate hand and power tools standard to a production environment
  • Expected to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis
  • Responsibilities could require lifting, moving, staging, and placing of materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistance
  • Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
  • May be required to travel, domestically and internationally, by car and by air. Overnight stays may also be required
