Full Job Description
Quality Engineer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. Working under the direction of our Senior Manager, Quality Assurance this position will provide support to internal and external stakeholders in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Quality Engineering support and compliance oversight on all quality assurance processes related to aircraft products and services.
  • Provide support to ensure compliance with established documented information and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible Quality Assurance Representative for the MRB. Interfacing with cross functional engineering and production support teams.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and the implementation of corrective actions related to system or process related issues.
  • Supporting production with interpretation of complex technical quality issues.
  • Maintain the QMS Document Control process.
  • Assist in the evaluation of Customer Returned products (RMA) and subsequent processing of information.
  • Develop and perform Trend/Failure analysis reports as required.
  • Perform Internal Audits to the AS9100, FAA parts 21 & 145, and EASA requirements.
  • Interaction with FAA and DCMA on problem resolutions and audit support.
  • Provide daily support to QA staff as needed for Material Testing, Receiving, Inprocess and Final inspections.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' quality assurance experience within the aerospace (military and commercial) industries. (*Rotary-winged aircraft experience is a plus.)
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience performing quality management system audits and regulatory agencies inspections.
  • Be proficient with the interpretation of CFR 14 parts 21 and 145.
  • Be able to read, understand and interpret specific technical information related to the aerospace industry.
  • Be able to perform and interpret the AS9102 First Article Inspection Report (FAIR).
  • Must have experience in risk assessment protocols and processes.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working to the requirements of European Union Aerospace Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) part 145.
  • Experience working within the Epicor ERP system is a plus


Education & Certifications

  • 4-year college or university degree in Engineering or Data Analytics.
  • AS9100 Internal Auditor Certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
