Job Description

Job Summary:

Are you someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys solving problems, and wants to play a critical role in delivering high-quality, high-impact products? As an Assembly Inspector, you're the final checkpoint ensuring every mechanical and electromechanical assembly meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and craftsmanship.

In this role, you'll be hands-on with advanced assemblies, perform detailed inspections at key stages of the build, and be the quality expert that keeps production running smoothly. Your work helps prevent defects, drives consistent quality, and supports safe, compliant manufacturing operations. If you enjoy working collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and quality professionals-and you're motivated by making a real impact-this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

You'll be the quality checkpoint for mechanical and electromechanical assemblies-performing inspections, verifying torque, and checking critical dimensions using precision tools. You'll apply GD&T principles, confirm labeling and traceability, and ensure workmanship meets all specifications. You'll maintain accurate, compliant documentation; identify and report defects; and communicate findings clearly to technicians, engineers, and supervisors. You'll keep tools calibrated and in good condition, support measurement system checks, and make sure no assembly moves forward without proper inspection release. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in briefings, raise concerns proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to keep quality at its best.

We'd Love to Hear from Candidates With:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certificates, vocational training, or military technical experience
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, quality inspection, or technical related work
  • Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T

A Successful Candidate Also Brings:
  • Knowledge of assembly sequencing and fastener requirements
  • Familiarity with inspection plans and digital inspection tools
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment
  • Basic understanding of calibration and measurement systems

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $64,248 - $107,080. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
