Full Job Description
Responsible for ensuring that the product or service an organization provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including customer expectations. The QAM is liable for manufacturing, sales operations and coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards. The QAM will liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the Quality Assurance Manager advises on changes and implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all metrology is performed to the applicable standards and maintains records that ensure that all of the equipment is traceable to NIST whenever possible/applicable
  • Works with the production managers and supervisors to point out and help facilitate resolution of production quality issues or discrepancies
  • Facilitates meeting of the MRB to ensure that discrepant parts are dispositioned in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the Quality Control Inspector and ultimately the Quality of the inspection of the product to ensure that discrepant products do not get through production and out to the customer
  • Responsible for the location and storage of the following data. Management Review Records
    • Training, Education, Skills, and Experience Records
    • Product Planning Effectiveness Records
    • Contract Review Records
    • Design and Development Records
    • Supplier Evaluation Records
    • Special Process Validation Records
    • Traceability Records
    • Customer Property Deficiency Records
    • Monitoring and Measuring Device Calibration Records
    • Internal Audit Records
    • Product Inspection and Release Records
    • Nonconforming Product Records
    • Corrective and Preventive Action Records
  • Responsible for clear and concise communication between all members of the MRB to ensure that there is no misunderstanding of the MRB or the quality policies
  • Performs a full range of supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, scheduling work, grievances and performance counseling. Ensures that all relevant Human Resources policies are adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Technical Field or Experience in a QA environment with exposure to ISO 9000 and understanding of ISO requirements
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Experience required
  • Knowledge of general principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Sensitive to confidential information
  • Must work independently and as a member of team


Mental and Physical Requirements
  • Able to read, speak and write English.
  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions
  • Sitting - at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing - frequent
  • Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting - occasional
  • Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc.) - frequent
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times
  • Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors
  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor
