The Role:Arine is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (Individual Contributor) who will operate as a key technical contributor in quality engineering execution. This role is focused on implementing and maintaining the end-to-end quality strategy across our core application features, user interfaces, and backend services. You will be instrumental in expanding scalable, resilient testing frameworks, supporting "Shift-Left" practices within the development cycle, and providing technical input that improves product reliability and engineering efficiency. You will collaborate directly with Engineering Architects, Product Managers, and the QA Manager to execute our long-term quality vision.
What You'll be Doing:- Design and execute comprehensive, risk-based test strategies and test plans for complex features, system releases, and architectural refactoring projects.
- Adopt and apply robust Quality Engineering practices across the organization, adhering to core testing policies, coding standards for test automation, and release readiness criteria.
- Contribute to the design, adoption, and scaling of robust automated test frameworks to achieve high automation coverage and establish repeatable validation.
- Proactively explore AI-driven tooling to modernize our testing workflows and elevate the efficiency of our quality engineering practices.
- Monitor and maintain automated quality gates within the development process to prevent regressions and ensure release confidence.
- Apply coding and scripting skills to develop custom diagnostic tools, execute root cause analysis, and perform system integrity checks.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with junior and senior QA engineers, helping to maintain a high technical bar for quality across engineering teams.
- Execute the primary quality sign-off, ensuring system integrity by utilizing sophisticated comparison and validation methods across all data and UI visualization touchpoints.
- Help identify and resolve systemic quality pain points and testing gaps, working with Engineering Leadership and the QA Manager to support structural process and tool improvements.
- Document and track high-priority defects, collaborating across development teams to ensure swift, permanent resolution of complex system issues.
Technical Expertise & System Architecture:- 3+ years of specialized Quality Engineering experience, with a focus on scalable, distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to and maintaining resilient, scalable test automation frameworks at an enterprise level.
- Strong ability to analyze system logs, integrate with observability platforms, and script test data setup and validation against complex application workflows.
- Experience with performance engineering, load testing, and security scanning concepts (not just execution).
- Solid capability in testing modern web application frontends and validating complex backend business logic in microservice architectures.
- Proficiency in debugging and tracing defects through complex, distributed environments.
Quality Strategy & Influence:- Proven success in working within standardized test practices across multiple engineering teams and development cycles.
- Solid understanding of modern QA methodologies, including Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), risk-based testing, and effective defect triage within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Hands-on experience with various API protocols and testing methods, and integrating these checks into automated, pre-deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and how they impact deployment and testing strategies is highly desirable.
Ownership & Collaboration:- Ability to translate ambiguous business objectives into precise, measurable, and exhaustive test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Proactive mindset in challenging and constructively questioning requirements to ensure product quality is prioritized before development begins.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while actively communicating progress and blockers to the wider team.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex system quality risks and findings effectively to both technical peers and executive stakeholders.
Remote Work Requirements:- An established private work area that ensures information privacy
- Reliable internet capable of low latency with the ability to carry video and voice calls without breaking up
- This role is remote, but you will be required to come to on-site meetings multiple times per year. This may be during the interview process, onboarding, and for team meetings
