Job description
QMS - SMS Manager positions offered by Safran Cabin, Inc. (Costa Mesa, California). Manage relations with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as well as with Certification Bodies, and maintain Safran Cabin's certifications, agreements and approvals. Establish and adapt the governance to monitor the effectiveness of Safran Cabin's Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS). Support the Cabin America sites in measuring the effectiveness of their QMS as per the EN/AS9100 requirements, (internal audits, process reviews, management reviews), and in developing improvement action plans. Monitor compliance with QMSs and SMS regulations & standards. Monitor the deployment of the One Safran Quality Operational Excellence standards as well as the Safran Safety Management policies and objectives across Safran Cabin America. Administer the One Safran Referential tool in support of Safran Cabin and local QMS. Manage the Safran Cabin's referential and drive standardization across the company through common procedures, ensuring compliance with internal protocols. Monitor relevant KPIs to assess quality performance in line with Safran Cabin objectives. Ensure the efficient execution of the internal audit programs across the organization, including monitoring the auditor's resources and qualifications according to Safran procedures. Monitor the execution of the local internal audits programs and coordinate crossed audits between Cabin America sites and with Safran sister companies, for highest benefit. Identify quality best practices and promote standardization across Safran Cabin America organizations. Promote Safran Digital Solutions in the QMS and SMS related activities, for highest efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience leading quality management activities in the aerospace industry.
• All 4 years of experience must include:
o Using quality tools for the design, production, maintenance nonconformance, tracking, and calibration of quality management systems.
o Engaging in QMS and processes management;
o Engaging in SMS requirements and deployment;
o Performing quality auditing;
o Applying AS9100 standards and airworthiness requirements relating to design, production, and maintenance organizations; and
o Implementing Aerospace and Defense industry regulations.
o Working with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations as it relates to the design, production, and maintenance of quality management systems; and
o Working with Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
The expected salary range for this position is between $130,245 to $142,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
