Position Summary:

Hybrid 3 days (offices in NYC, Denver, CO and Charlotte, NC area)

The QA Manager is responsible for leading and scaling the quality assurance strategy across engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on test automation, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. This role provides strategic leadership in QA practices while overseeing the work of QA engineers and ensuring consistent quality standards are applied through all stages of the software development lifecycle. The QA Manager works closely with product, engineering, and leadership stakeholders to define and drive a culture of quality across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Define, implement, and manage the overall quality strategy, including automation, manual testing, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers across multiple Scrum teams, ensuring consistent execution and delivery
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product leadership to align testing priorities with business goals
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable test automation frameworks and CI/CD integrations
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to report on testing effectiveness and product health to leadership
  • Champion testing best practices, including shift-left testing, test-driven development, and robust exploratory testing
  • Identify gaps in coverage, tooling, or process and proactively implement solutions
  • Conduct regular code and test reviews, ensuring high standards and alignment with QA practices
  • Drive initiatives for test data management, performance testing, and environment stability
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation within the QA team
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and cross-departmental planning as a senior technical stakeholder
  • Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a QA leadership or management role
  • Strong background in the healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or health insurance industries
  • Proven success in building and scaling test automation strategies across large or complex applications
  • Demonstrated experience with front-end automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) and scripting in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with middleware/API testing, SQL, and Linux/Unix systems
  • Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools and integration of testing frameworks into deployment pipelines
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams and remote-first collaboration


(Optional) Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in pharmacy benefits, health plans, or PBM/PBA environments
  • Proficiency with AWS and DevOps pipelines, including environment validation and infrastructure testing
  • Familiarity with RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Prior involvement in compliance, audit, or regulated environment testing

$144,000-$180,000 USD

Denver, CO Salary Range

$132,000-$165,000 USD

Charlotte, NC Salary Range

$120,000-$150,000 USD
