Position Summary

Join a collaborative, trauma-informed team providing recovery-oriented care to adults with serious mental illness (SMI), trauma histories, impulse-control challenges, and complex interpersonal needs. Core duties include psychological assessment, behavioral interventions, individual therapy, and group interventions within acute inpatient setting supporting safety, stabilization, and discharge readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and level-of-care decisions.
  • Deliver individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based, recovery-oriented approaches.
  • Develop and monitor behavioral interventions and safety/crisis plans with the treatment team.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds; collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, social work, rehab services, and milieu staff.
  • Coordinate care and transitions; contribute to discharge planning and community linkage.
  • Maintain timely, thorough clinical documentation aligned with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Foster a culturally responsive, person-centered environment consistent with site policies.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate (PhD/PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Current Georgia license to practice psychology
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower-level Psychologist


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated competency with diverse clients and culturally responsive care.
  • Experience with psychiatric inpatients and individuals with SMI.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Proven collaboration on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in psychological assessment.

Minimum Qualifications
• Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university
• Current Georgia license to practice psychology and one year of experience at the lower-level Psychologist or equivalent. Note: License may be temporary, provisional, or permanent.
