Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under direction, provides psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic services; advises on the prevention, research, and medical aspects of other mental health program activities and does other work as required.
Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements
Sufficient education and experience to become licensed as a practicing psychiatrist in the State of California.
Possession of a valid State of California License as a physician and surgeon and evidence of completion of an approved residency program in psychiatry; possession of a valid Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Certificate.
Valid California Driver's License.
Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
