Job Details

Psychiatrist Job Summary:

Provide Psychiatric care to individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions which includes diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with mental illnesses, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the overall mental health services offered by our facility.

Psychiatrist Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult patients, including diagnostic assessments and follow-up care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, which may include medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and response to medication.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Document patient interactions and progress thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and hospital-wide committees to improve patient care and hospital operations.
  • Provide on-call support as needed to manage psychiatric emergencies and acute crises.
  • Stay current with medical advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatments through continuing education and professional development.
  • Provide supervision to psychiatry residents and APPs

Psychiatrist Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Psychiatry.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry (or eligibility to become board-certified) required.
  • Valid and active New York State medical license.
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
