Full Job Description
Duties Description Rockland Psychiatric Center (RPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists for their inpatient hospital located in Orangeburg, New York.

Psychiatrists at RPC are part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive, patient-centered, and holistic team-based care individuals with mental illness 18 year of age or older; including:
• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
• Creating treatment plans including medication management
• Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
• Providing individual and group psychotherapy

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:

Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and in the case of Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2, current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Loss of licensure and certification may result in removal from this position.
