Full Job Description
Duties Description New York City Children's Center (NYCCC) an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Board Eligible or Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join NYCCC's Queens campus located at 74-03 Commonwealth Blvd, Queens NY.

Psychiatrists at NYCCC are part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides comprehensive, patient-centered, holistic team-based care to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances including:
• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions
• Creating treatment plans including medication management
• Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed
• Providing individual and group psychotherapy
• Collaborating with families, schools and community providers to support safe discharge planning

NYCCC is a multi-faceted community-based psychiatric center providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents in the greater New York City area. With campuses in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx; NYCCC provides a variety of inpatient and community services including Day Treatment Programs, Behavioral Health Clinics, Mobile Integration Team (MIT), Community Residences, and Peer Advocacy Services. All programs are fully integrated, which allows NYCCC to provide a full continuum of care to the children and adolescents they serve.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:

Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

Psychiatrist 2 Children & Youth: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN, and certification in child and adolescent psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

OR

Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

3. License and Certification: Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
