Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to manage patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The incoming provider will commit to the highest quality of care using an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the post-acute continuum. Our patient population served includes adults and geriatrics.
Responsibilities- Psych Inpatient care- rounding and new patient admissions
- Coordination of care with attendings, consults, referral sources, and hospital staff
- Assess and manage inpatient census
- Perform physical exams, obtain complete medical history, and record findings
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Order/administer medication and injections as deemed medically necessary
- Instruct patient/family regarding medications, post admission care and treatments
- Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute needs of patients
Requirements- Valid South Carolina Nurse Practitioner License
- ANCC Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- DEA License
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- BLS and ACLS Certified
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Possess traits of punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to function within a team.
