DescriptionGeneral Summary:Under the administrative direction of the Director of Clinic-Based Services and the clinical guidance of the Medical Director, the Staff Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care. This position is ideal for a compassionate, driven professional committed to helping individuals begin and sustain their path to recovery.
What You'll Do- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management
- Deliver efficient, patient-centered services through evaluations, medication reviews, and ongoing monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical program development
- Conduct examinations and certifications for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization in accordance with Michigan Mental Health Code
- Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation in electronic medical records
- Support and implement evidence-based psychiatric practices
- Engage in professional development through trainings, meetings, and conferences
- Contribute to a positive, professional presence in both clinical and community settings

RequirementsRequired Education / Certification / Licensure- MSN degree and NP certification in the State of Michigan.
- Licensed to practice as an NP in the State of Michigan.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
- Valid Michigan Controlled Substance License and Drug Enforcement Agency Registration.
- Must pass background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional licenses, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of the National Practitioners Databank/Healthcare Integrity & Protection Databank Search, verification of Board Certification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.
- Must be insurable through the professional liability and malpractice insurance provided by LifeWays.
Preferred Education / Certification/Licensure- Credentialed to provide Medication Assisted-Treatment for individuals with substance use disorders.
