Job Description
The agency is currently recruiting for a Psychiatric / MH Nurse Practitioner. ARNP is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and coordination with community providers.

Colonial Behavioral Health is recruiting for our brand-new 14,000 square foot, state of the art Center for Support and Wellness scheduled to open in Fall 2026. The Center for Support and Wellness will be home to our 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization, Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit and Crisis Services. We are seeking caring, innovative and compassionate professionals committed to utilize their skills to deliver urgent and life-saving behavioral treatment. You will be a part of a supportive multidisciplinary team providing low barrier treatment and developing the programs.

Job Duties
Position responsibility includes performing psychiatric diagnosis and treatment including prescribing and managing medication therapy, obtaining health histories, teaching and recommending other services as necessary. Position has clinical responsibility for monitoring participant treatment and staff delivery of clinical services. The ARNP is responsible for assuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws and relevant contract and procedure requirements associated with the operations within the Medical Services Department.

Work Schedule

Work schedule consists of standard business hours, with periodic on-call responsibilities outside of normal working hours.
Qualifications (EEO)
Masters degree in Nursing, Psychiatric, VA Dept. of Health license as a Psychiatric ARNP with prescriptive authority, must have DEA certificate to prescribe controlled substance. Registration with the DEA Knowledge and skill in working with co-occurring MH and Substance use disorders
