General SummaryThe Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care services to patients ages 4/5 to 21, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Essential Job Functions- Evaluate patients and prescribe medication and treatments as professional license allows.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to license scope.
- Order lab and x-ray test as indicated.
- Diagnose health conditions and diseases
- Analyze and interpret test results and contact patients as necessary regarding such results.
- Contact pharmacies to authorize prescribed medication for patients
- Educate parents how to care for and what to expect from well and sick children, providing accurate and up to date information.
- Consult with physicians when in doubt related to direct patient care matters, especially referrals to specialist

Qualifications/Education and Experience- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Current APRN license in the state of Florida
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an APRN in a primary care setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements- Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read emails, documents, reports, etc.
- Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with other staff, clients, vendors, etc.
- Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about the office, including up and down stairs
- Climbing/stooping/kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up small items, file documents, etc.
- Lifting/pulling/pushing: Minimal lifting required in this position
Working Conditions: Normal working conditions absent extreme factors
