You will directly contribute to onboarding thousands of new servers through 2026, helping fuel customer growth and capacity expansion while building repeatable, automated provisioning systems that power Vultr's leadership in bare metal, GPU, and high-performance cloud services.
Key Responsibilities- Execute end-to-end server onboarding, including initial imaging and bundled firmware updates.
- Respond to capacity management to provision new servers efficiently.
- Perform basic post-onboard validation and ensure smooth handoff to the Platform team.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Solutions Engineering teams for new assignments.
- Build and improve automation scripts and provisioning pipelines.
- Track and report on onboarding metrics, identifying bottlenecks and driving improvements.
- Support server repurposing and migration activities as part of the broader lifecycle process.
- Maintain detailed documentation and runbooks for repeatable provisioning workflows.
- Collaborate with the Hardware team when physical coordination is required during onboarding.
- Contribute to process optimization to handle increasing onboarding volume with high quality.
Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, deployment automation, or infrastructure operations.
- Strong Bash scripting skills with experience building and maintaining automation scripts for repetitive tasks.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals - networking, storage, boot processes, and command-line tooling.
- Comfortable working in high-volume deployment environments with remote hands support.
- Strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively during periods of rapid scaling and high throughput demands.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to Vultr's specific provisioning workflows and tooling.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation$80,000 - $100,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
