About Neuralink:

We are creating devices that enable a bi-directional interface with the brain. These devices allow us to restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize how humans interact with their digital world.

Team Description:

The Brain Interfaces Team is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of all systems related to the implant and charger. Our projects involve electrical and mechanical test systems, custom jigs and fixtures, electronics packaging and tooling at the interface between the implant and the surgical robot.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

As our Prototype & Design Specialist, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining an environment that enables our engineering and manufacturing teams to innovate and deliver groundbreaking medical devices. You will go beyond managing equipment and facilities; you will be a key enabler of technical and operational success, ensuring that the R&D lab spaces are designed for efficiency and collaboration. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth by facilitating innovation, streamlining operations, and optimizing resource utilization. Additionally, you will be expected to:
  • Engineering Lab Design and Operations:
    • Design and build lab spaces to meet the evolving needs of the engineering and manufacturing teams
    • Continuously improve lab capabilities and operations by implementing new technologies and optimizing space for faster and more efficient workflows
    • Own and maintain inventory of all lab equipment, including tools, chemicals, and consumables
    • Implement systems for lab organization and cleanliness, and train users accordingly
    • Ensure spaces comply with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Prototyping and Fabrication:
    • Provide hands-on technical support to engineers and technicians by building prototypes, setting up stations and running tests
    • Utilize various fabrication methods, including additive and subtractive manufacturing, to produce high-quality prototype parts.
    • Operate and maintain a range of machines and power/hand tools necessary for prototyping
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines and production schedules

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a prototyping environment
  • Part design experience
  • Experience programming and operating laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC machines
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to medical device development
  • Experience with inventory management systems and quality control processes


Expected Compensation:

The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees' success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.

Base Salary Range:

$68,000-$114,000 USD
