DescriptionProperty Accounting ManagerAbout the RoleReporting to the Controller, the Property Accounting Manager will oversee accurate financial reporting and effective financial management across a portfolio of industrial real estate assets, including stabilized properties and projects in the development/construction stages. While this role will not have direct reports, it will manage relationships with external accounting consultants and provide detailed review and oversight of their work. This role requires strong communication, strong accounting expertise, and the ability to drive process improvements.
This position is based in our Chicago Loop office, with an in-office schedule Monday through Thursday.
ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Main contact for Baker Tilly, who is responsible for the accounting of stabilized properties.
- Reviews property workpapers and related financials prepared by either Logistics Property Company staff or Baker Tilly; communicating necessary adjustments, monthly updates, and/or process changes/improvements.
- Responsible for coordination of uploading business plan budgets into Yardi Voyager and monitoring monthly variance reports.
- Reviews lease agreements and ensures applicable information is accurately uploaded into Yardi Voyager (i.e., lease terms, CAM pools, etc.)
- Reviews quarterly/annual common area expense reconciliations
- Primary liaison with Asset Management team to assist with needs related to new tenants and 3rd party property managers
- Prepares and distributes debt refinancing analysis on an as needed basis
- Responsible for lender reporting in collaboration with Capital Markets team
About YouThe ideal candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 5 years of professional work experience in accounting, and at least 2 years of managerial experience
- Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Motivation to develop and mentor junior employees.
- Interest in driving process improvements and efficiency within the group.
- Approaches cross-departmental relationships with a customer service mentality and works well with associates of all levels.
- Deep familiarity with GAAP
- Acute attention to detail.

CompensationThis role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $110,000 - $135,000 annually plus bonus, reflecting the company's good faith estimate based on market data and internal equity.
