Project Superintendent Job Summary

Prusik Construction is in the market to hire a hardworking and energetic person with a positive attitude to take on the role of Project Superintendent. The position will require the individual to oversee all aspects of a commercial construction project from start to finish. This entails working with owners in the pre-construction phase, scheduling as it pertains to people and material delivery, overall safety and quality control, and finally project close-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and coordinating sub-contractor tasks to ensure project schedule is met, timely completion and avoid conflicts
  • Identify and communicate design conflicts and actively participate in the resolution
  • Perform quality control inspections to guarantee work is completed to specifications and that sub-contractor is satisfactorily executing the full scope of the contract.
  • Ability to identify deficient work or areas of potential conflict and provide resolutions
  • Communicate with the project team, e.g. submittals and RFI
  • Coordinating all inspections as required
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to identify safety and health hazards and offer mitigation techniques
  • Hold weekly subcontractor coordination and safety meetings
  • Maintain daily log of jobsite activities
  • Ensure the job-site is kept clean and organized
  • Unlock the site in the morning and secure it at the end of the day
  • Assist the project manager in updating the schedule and identifying future issues
  • Maintain 3 week look ahead schedule
  • Generate punch lists and follow through on the completion to move towards project close out


Required Skills

  • Leadership skills to provide direction and resolve conflicts amongst multiple sub-contractors when necessary
  • Works well in team environments putting the project ahead of individuals goals; open and objective to other ideas and feedback
  • Demonstrates effective oral communication skills when both speaking and listening; asks clarification questions and also responds well to questions and criticism
  • Demonstrates effective written communication skills through clear and concise writing

Physical Demands

  • The job is primarily performed on the site in a variety of weather which can be extreme; must be physically fit enough to endure the weather conditions
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • The work requires the use of ladders and other duties utilizing tools, and performed at heights

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in some form of construction management
  • Proficient in use of computers- Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, project etc.), Adobe PDF viewer, view point team, other project management software is a plus
  • Completion of OSHA 10 Hour training class preferred
  • Pertinent college degree in Construction Management or Business ideal


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 - $120,000 per year with Bonuses based on experience

Schedule: 8-hour shift

Work Location: Multiple Locations * Driver's License (Required)
