Job SummaryThe Division of Undergraduate Education at University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and Arts ensures that the undergraduate experience is academically sound, accessible and equitable, and truly transformative. We do this across 25 units employing 250 dedicated full-time staff and more than 1,500 student staff each year. Together, the units of the division focus on opening doors to increase access to an LSA education, supporting students in their critical first year, overseeing curriculum across the college, connecting students with transformative experiences, and enabling students to successfully complete their degrees and launch into their next steps.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of a variety of strategically important projects across the division. Current projects focus on successful implementation of major new technology systems for student support and advising, launch of specialized educational facilities on campus, development of new reporting tools, and support for multidisciplinary assessment projects within the division. You will report to the Executive Director for Organizational and Strategic Initiatives in LSA Undergrad Education.
Responsibilities*- Lead cross-functional and cross-organizational people and teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Assemble project teams, identify resources and roles, and create implementation plans and timelines.
- Provide hands-on logistical support for project execution, including scheduling meetings, setting agendas, recording notes and action items, updating plans, preparing relevant communications, reviewing contracts and MOUs, monitoring project expenditures, and tracking deliverables.
- Demonstrate and promote the values and ethics of the organization while building cooperative relationships across the college and university.
- Provide strategic advice and tactical solutions on project planning and execution.
- Plan and manage the solution evaluation process to evaluate alternative courses of action, including participating in Request for Information and Request for Proposal competitive bid processes.
- Stay current with relevant updates in student success and higher education technology through training, research, and professional development.
Required Qualifications*- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading team members to meet project goals with process, service, and technology changes.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including responsibilities requiring confidentiality, stakeholder management, prioritization, troubleshooting, and independent work.
- Expertise in developing communication plans for varied audiences from less experienced team members to executives
Desired Qualifications*- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
- Experience with student information and/or customer relationship management technologies and/or systems (e.g. Salesforce CRM, DegreeWorks, etc.).
- Experience with Agile or Lean project methodologies.
- Experience managing solution evaluation processes.
