Full Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Using Scopes, Estimates, Drawings and Contract Specifications, create CPM Project Schedules, Resource Plans and Cost Budgeting utilizing Primavera P6 software;
  • Perform Project Site Visits to build & update various construction schedules;
  • Develop and present to the client and Project Management Team solutions to schedule conflicts, labor availability issues, mitigation of schedule delays, and other scheduling-related issues;
  • Review & comment on various contractor schedule submissions, including baseline vs. update analysis and identification, analysis of critical paths to ascertain project completion status, forecasting delays and evaluation of alternative scenarios;
  • Perform Delay Claims Analysis as needed;
  • Execute Monthly Status Reporting, including preparation, updating and distribution of various monthly bar charts, histograms and schedule extracts delineating work completed to date and plan for upcoming work activities;
  • Perform Earned Value Analysis;
  • Assist with Resource Planning / Leveling;
  • All related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in planning, scheduling, monitoring and project controls of rail transit construction / design-build projects or equivalent transportation / public works / rail projects;
  • Strong computer skills with thorough knowledge of Primavera P6 software with Planning, Tracking and Monitoring of Project Scope, Resource and Cost;
  • BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred; HS Diploma/Equivalent required;
  • PMI-SP certification is highly preferred;
  • Ability to understand and interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents for work orders and build documents;
  • Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with clients, supervisors, and Project Team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to assume a stationary position, handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. The employee is also regularly required to move around on project sites and within buildings and other structures, including ascending or descending the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning themselves appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, frequently for prolonged periods of time. For rail transit projects, the job-site will often consist of hazards associated with an operating rail transit system, including but not limited to: trains traveling at high rates of speed adjacent to the work area, electrified third rail or catenary wire, stone ballast walking surfaces, track systems including running rail, concrete or creosote-soaked timber ties, and uneven ballast surfaces.

The employee will also communicate with colleagues, supervisors and clients utilizing Corporate and client e-mail and telephone systems. Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines. This position also may require the regular operation of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.

Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
