CLIENT'S ORIGINAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The dedicated
Project Scheduler is responsible for owning the technical build, integration, and maintenance of ODCFO's Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to protect the critical path to FY2028 audit success. This role separates schedule mechanics from functional audit work by managing all IMS structure, dependencies, logic, baseline governance, and cross?stakeholder integration. The scheduler ensures schedule accuracy, performs critical path and risk analyses, enforces standards, resolves technical issues (such as broken dependencies), and produces clear executive?level insights that improve forecasting, risk management, and decision?making. By centralizing these technical scheduling duties, ODCFO SMEs can focus fully on remediation activities and strategic program execution while leadership gains reliable visibility into progress and risks across the Department.
Key Responsibilities - IMS Revision Management: Revision and updates to all elements (as requested) to maintain complex master schedules spanning multiple workstreams, dependencies, milestones, and external stakeholders.
- Technical Analysis: Perform rigorous critical path analysis, resource loading, baseline management, schedule risk assessments, and change impact analysis.
- Governance: Establish scheduling standards and best practices to prevent technical schedule errors and ensure IMS integrity.
- Executive Reporting: Translate highly detailed schedule data into clear, actionable executive-level insights to support ODCFO leadership in early risk detection and decision-making.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Confidently engage with functional SMEs and external partners, constructively challenging assumptions to protect project timelines and outcomes.
Required Qualifications - Experience: 8+ years of progressive scheduling or project controls experience on highly complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project and direct experience building and managing highly complex Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- Analytical Skills: Deep understanding of critical path methodology (CPM), schedule risk analysis, variance reporting, and baseline management.
- Communication: Proven ability to brief senior leadership, translate complex data into clear insights, and drive consensus among cross-functional teams.
- Domain Expertise: A background in accounting, federal financial management, audit remediation, or defense program operations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Project Management Institute (PMI) Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or equivalent certification
